The Anatomy of 1st Birthday Invitations for your Child’s Anniversary

 Hardly anybody would not to make their child’s or siblings’ first birthday a special occasion. You no doubt look to the internet to help you come up with the best 1st birthday invitations possible for the little wonder’s grand anniversary. All too often though, you will get ideas that most people have already tried and you find nothing innovative that would genuinely surprise the recipients of the invites.

As difficult as it is to find a unique design for a 1st birthday invite, if you work a little hard, you will be able to find new ideas on your own. You only need to know what components make a good invitation. Look, there are basically three things that go into completing any invitation – words, poems and images. You can get creative with each of these and come up with a truly unique invitation.

Words

Words, although not the most prominent part, are the most important part of you invitation. They give the guests information about what is happening, when it is happening and all the other details. In today’s age of multimedia, words are often ignored and people just throw in the bare essentials. In fact, this may not be a bad idea at all, but words can also be used effectively to make people feel good.

First decide on a theme for the birthday party. This, by extension, will become your theme for the invitations. For instance, if the theme for the birthday is based on dinosaurs, which children love, you can word the invitation with some fun line from a Jurassic Park movie.

Images

Images, no doubt, feature most prominently in 1st birthday invitations. Who wouldn’t like to see a cute little kid nestled cozily inside their invitations. With photos though, you probably won’t need to work hard to make it look cute. Kids are already so cute that a simple white background with your child’s chubby smiling face is enough to melt people’s hearts.

If you want though, you can enhance the mood for the party in the invitations by getting creative with the pictures. If, for instance, your birthday party is themed on dinosaurs, you could make a dinosaur egg which is cracked and show your baby inside it. Or you can have two kids inside the same large egg if the party is for twins. This is but one idea of the many you can come up with on your own.

Poems

Rhymes or small poems are not a very integral part of the invitations, nor are they necessary. All the same, it would be great if you can include a rhyme of two for the invites. This could be anything from a rhyme that you child loves to listen to from you or some cute lines made up by you especially for the child.

Whatever you do with the invitation design, just keep it simple and uncluttered. Don’t make it too loud and exaggerate the occasion. In fact, the key to have a good birthday party is to do something that the 1 year old child should enjoy it along with you. This should be reflected in the 1st birthday invitations as well.
